Le 3 juin 2024, Choiseul Africa et ODDO BHF ont rassemblé à Paris des acteurs clés pour promouvoir des investissements durables, transformant défis africains en opportunités concrètes.
On Monday, June 3rd, 2024, Choiseul Africa, in partnership with ODDO BHF, gathered key actors in African development in Paris for a meeting on sustainable investments. Facing the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the continent, this event brought together influential decision-makers and experts committed to turning ambitions into concrete actions for lasting impact.
As we approach 2050, with more than 50% of Africa’s population consisting of youth, African economies are experiencing some of the highest growth rates in the world. However, despite this significant demographic and economic potential, the continent faces a persistent financing gap, exacerbated by geopolitical tensions. Sustainable investments emerge as an essential solution to stimulate inclusive growth and generate sustainable jobs.
The discussions raised key questions: how can public and private interests be aligned to develop large-scale sustainable projects, and what incentives could encourage an approach that integrates social and environmental dimensions? The future of sustainable investments in Africa will depend on innovation, transforming challenges into opportunities, and creating a favorable environment for growth. This paves the way for concrete actions towards the sustainable development of the continent.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Ghislaine SAMAKE, General Manager of Ecobank Guinea-Bissau, for her insightful moderation and expertise!
