The Financial Future of Africa Through Casablanca Finance City

On April 4^th, 2017, Institut Choiseul had the honor of hosting Saïd Ibrahimi, the leader of Casablanca Finance City (CFC), an ambitious pan-African financial hub. CFC aims to be a catalyst for financial convergence in West Africa and has already distinguished itself by attracting nearly 80 multinational companies.

A graduate of École Centrale, Mr. Saïd Ibrahimi has held high-level positions in banking and public service, notably at BNP, BMCI, Moroccan Bank for Africa and the Middle East (BMAO), and Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole (CNCA). Appointed as the kingdom’s General Treasurer in 2003, he has also forged numerous alliances in West Africa, convinced that South-South cooperation is essential for building a credible and competitive financial hub.CFC faces several major challenges, including the need to create an environment conducive to investmentin an increasingly competitive regional context, strengthen partnerships with key continental players, and adapt to global economic changes.
