Held in Abidjan, this edition of the Choiseul Africa Summit brought together over 150 talents and leaders from the continent as well as international figures for two days of strategic exchanges. Discussions, innovations and networking punctuated this event dedicated to the challenges and opportunities shaping Africa's future.
On May 4 and 5, 2018, Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire and a veritable hub for West Africa, hosted the 6th edition of the Choiseul Africa Summit. This major event brought together more than 150 winners of the Choiseul 100 Africa ranking and numerous business leaders, illustrating the dynamism and diversity of African and international leadership.
Against a backdrop of rapid economic transformation and growing geopolitical challenges, Ivory Coast emerged in 2018 as an example of resilience and growth in West Africa. With economic growth approaching 8% and consolidated political stability, the country symbolizes the opportunities offered by a framework conductive to innovation and international cooperation.
The Summit explored key issues for the future of the continent, such as the acceleration of economic transformation, intergenerational transmission in family businesses and the need for greater international cooperation to be embedded. These exchanges laid a solid foundation for concrete action, while also raising strategic questions: how can we reconcile tradition and innovation to guarantee the long-term future of African businesses? What alliances are needed to overcome regional and global challenges while stimulating inclusive growth? These are just some of the avenues to be explored in order to build a sustainable and resilient Africa.
